Two posts in one day, what? I'm back to post my first makeup look on Em Charlie! I think this is the first time you've all seen my face so "hello, this is what I look like!" I really like this look for everyday, but you could amp it up with some contouring and eyeliner (liquid/gel recommendations??)

Let's get on to what I put on my face:

Eyes: Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Half Baked and Smog, Brows in Naked, Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara

Lips: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon

Hair: Air Dry and Shwarzkopf Daily Oil Elixir

There you have it! Casual Christmassy Makeup. If you've done a christmas look, post a link in the comments, I'd love to see it,

Summer Things

How is it December already? I can hardly believe it but it's finally summer here, and I've got my essentials at the ready.

First up is a good book. I received The Rosie Effect for my birthday and so far I'm loving it, but I won't spoil it for you! It is the second in the series so check out The Rosie Project first. I can't wait to be reading it on a beach somewhere. Sunnies are a must in Australia all year round, and turtleshell cat-eyes are for me. On to a beauty essential, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paolo. This is a lovely deep pink that really complements any eye look, and the texture is awesome and pretty long-lasting if you let it dry first. Because it's so hot, I really need to get my makeup off as soon as I get home, and I've jumped on the Garnier Micellar Water band wagon. It's good stuff, thumbs up from me! Last thing is music. I'm recommending Built On Glass by Chet Faker, golden songs from a golden artist. Talk is Cheap' is my favourite at the moment. The other album is I Forget Where We Were by Ben Howard. I loved 'Depth Over Distance', and I can't wait to hear more of his records.

That's all for today guys, and don't worry, there's heaps of content on its way throughout this month. Let me know what your summer essentials are, and I'll see you around.

A Hair Shake-Up

Hello Everyone!

A short post today. I'm looking at changing my hair from it's natural colour to one of the two above. At the moment, I'm leaning toward the blonde, but naturally it changes everyday! Let me know which one you like the most in the comments below, and I'll do a follow up post as to which one I end up picking.

The School Makeup

Hello Everybody!

I know most schools are pretty shifty about makeup. My school is kind of okay with it, however it must be very natural. I have two products I use, and they work great together ( + matching packaging... win win!).

On my face: The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream
This is cool, cause the formula goes on white and blends to your skin tone, which is great as there is no makeup line. The coverage is sheer but just enough to get an even layer.

On my Eyes: Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara
I love this one! This mascara lengthens really naturally and just looks like you've tinted your eyelashes. It's not waterproof so I only curl my lashes on sports days.

So there you go! Let me know in the comments what you wear to school, if you wear any. I don't think it is necessary, but I enjoy putting it on.

( + Thank you to those of you who commented on my last post, it was so nice to hear from you!)

It's okay not to be okay

Hello Everyone,

I'm sure you've all noticed how irregular my posting has been since about July. I'm aware this isn't a very big community, but I want to be honest with you all, and I hope you know that I'm here for everyone of you. So, let's get started.

It really hasn't been my year. A lot of tough things have happened, and I wasn't able to deal with them, school, home and keeping this blog updated. First off, my parent's decided that they weren't right for one another anymore. Even though it wasn't a shock, it's still a very difficult time period, telling your friends, moving homes once a week, ecetera. I'm sure people who have experienced it will understand the feeling.  All of this made me decide that people change, and you have to change too, even if they used to be the most important people in your life.

This caused me to look at my relationships, and I decided that my friendship group was a toxic one. It wasn't their fault, they didn't bully me or anything, our ideals were just too different. But sometimes I still sit with them, because I really struggle with change. Scary stuff. Hopefully one day I'll be able to adjust to new people better.

But by far, the biggest hurdle has been battling anxiety. I've always been a worrier, but anxiety and panic attacks have been a huge part of my life this year. It has been really, really hard. The hardest part is talking about it, as some of the closest people to me have referred to my anxiety as a disorder and illness, and my panic attacks as cop out. I'm taking steps to deal with it, starting with visiting a councilor. I'm not sure if it will help, let's see.

Something this has taught me is that it's okay not to be okay. I'm still here, I'm still getting through, I'm still working towards making my life better. I'm not okay at the moment, but that might be okay for now.

Three YouTubers I'm Watching

Hello Everybody!
Today I'm sharing some YouTubers that have been on my radar recently, so let's get started!

Clothes Encounters
First up is Jenn from ClothesEncounters. I love her style videos and her editing skills are out of this world! Definitely hit her channel up if you're looking for a wardrobe re-vamp.

La Madelynn
Madelynn's videos give off such a nice vibe. She has a lovely personality, her videos are always unique and her music taste is on pointe.

Will Darbyshire
I love Will 'cause of how much thought he puts into each video, and every one of them makes you think yourself. Some are light-hearted, some are deep, but I love them all.

So those are my YouTube picks of the moment! Let me know who you are watching in the comments below and I'll check them out,

Melbourne Haul

Hello Everyone!
Last weekend I went to Melbourne for a holiday, and some serious shopping went down. Seeing as most of this is beauty-related, I thought I ought to share it with you!

*Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to brag, I saved up for this myself. Tanks*
L-R: The Paris Review, Body Shop Hand Cream, Coconut Revolution Sample, Body Shop Vitamin E Face Sorbet, Kitsch Place Ring & Earrings, Body Shop BB Creme, Aesop Samples, NGV Mirror, Korres Lip Butter and Soap, Page 33 Bath Brew.

Skincare:
I purchased four skincare items while in Melbourne. The fist two are from the Body Shop and they are a Strawberry Hand Cream to put in my bag on the go, and the Vitamin E Face Sorbet. This one is awesome, and I can really describe the texture, but it feels amazing! Next is the samples from Aesop and Coconut Revolution. The Aesop one has a few little bits and bobs that I'll probably review later! The Coconut revolution one is a new brand, and I'm excited to try this out.

Beauty:
Alright, two things here. 1st, Body Shop BB Creme. This goes on white but blends to your skintone, viola no more foundation lines. The other is the Korres Lip Butter in Quince. I love this because it is hydrating and its a beautiful colour for everyday + Packaging is beautiful.

Other:
The Paris Review, Page 33 Bath Brew, Korres Milk Soap. Haven't used the Soap or Book, but I gave the Bath Brew to my friend Paige for her birthday, and essentially it is a wonderful smelling tea bag for the bath. She loved it! Excited to try the others though. Mirror is from National Gallery of Victoria, and it's the cutest thing.

That's it for this post, Thank you for reading. Below is some photos from the trip, if you'd like to see. Comment down below if you've tried anything above and let me know how you liked it!

August Favourites

Hello Everybody!
Today I'm sharing my favourites of last month:

Frankie Magazine:
This is one of my favourite publications around. It's got some great articles, some are comedic, some are artistic, and it covers an amazing range of things. I've been subscribed for almost two years and this months issue was particularly good!

Nars Sheer Glow:
I know how slow I am on the bandwagon, but this foundation has been working amazingly for me. As I have sensitive skin, I'm very particular as to what I put on it, but this really lives up to my expectations. The coverage is awesome, it enhances without masking.

Circa Home Narcissus and Patchouli Candle:
Describing scents is a weak point, but this candle is perfect for burning while doing work and I love it.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson:
This book is amazing! Written by David Levithan and John Green, it's a spectacular read which has shocking highs and lows in the lives of the Will Graysons.

Sonnetanz Song Cover:
This may well be my favourite cover ever. Cara Delevigne and Will Heard's voices gel amazingly, and the the song has been on repeat constantly.

So those are last month's favourites! Comment down below what you think of the post. (and my new blog design!!)

CutiePieMarzia Memebox!

Hello Everybody!
Earlier this month I ordered a beauty box curated by Marzia Bisognin, or CutiePieMarzia, and it came a few days ago!

The box in question is from a Korean company named Memebox. They send out boxes filled with great full size products, and they aren't subscription which is a different to other beauty boxes. There were six products in my box, a combo of makeup and skin care. I haven't used them for long, but here are my first impressions!

First off: Beauty People Eyeliner Kit; Snow White Special Edition Season Two.
Wow. These are amazing. The set comes with 5 eyeliners, Rose Gold, Gold, Beige, Brown and Black, which can also be used as eye shadow crayons. The best part about them? The staying power! I swatched the rose gold when I picked it up from the post office and I noticed it was still there some 12 hours later. Yay!!

Two: Petit Friend Tinted Lip Balm.
This lip balm is adorable! It's a two in one product, with a balm on the outside, and a baby pink tinted-lipstick-thingy. Both of them are very moisturizing and I can't wait to keep using it.

Three: Lvida Nail Polish.
I can't say that I love nail polish, but this is such a lovely colour! It comes out as a peachy orange pink, doesn't chip and I love the packaging. Win, win, win.

Four: Pure Smile Gelee Labo Strawberry.
I thought this was a jam when I first saw it! It's actually a face mask, and I have never seen anything like it before. The consistency is so odd, but hopefully it'll be good to enjoy on a pamper evening sometime soon.

Five: It's Skin Babyface One-Step Base.
This is a primer, and when you first apply it the product is pink! Don't worry, it dries clear and really works well to keep your makeup on. The bottle is absolutely huge compared to other primers, so I'm really glad that this will last me a long time.

Finally: It's Skin Volumer Essence.
My favourite product of the bunch.I was really excited about this, because I had never heard of it before! It works as a skincare product (with some awesome Hyaluronic Acid), but you can also mix it in with your foundation to help with your base. I incorporated it with my skincare routine, after I cleanse and tone.

So that's all for this post! I have another scheduled for late this week, to make up for my hiatus! Also let me know if you've tried Korean beauty things before, I'd love to get more into it.

Take Time Out For You.

Hello Everyone,

Today I want to talk about looking after yourself and relaxing. I have had the most insane, but amazing week of my life (I was in my first professional show, CATS). But after some seriously long days, I was ready to slow down. To give my skin a break I'm having a no makeup day, save the YSL Rouge Volupte No. 13, because a little bit of lippie makes everyone feel good, non? I used the Lush Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser to refresh my face, and then sat down to read some blogposts, all 146(!)that I had missed this week. Pictured is alittleopulent.com As an extra treat, Connoisseur Ice Cream was thrown in the mix, but I promise I didn't eat the whole thing!

Honestly, I do think that it's really important to take time out for yourself, and not worry about the next thing coming. I love just enjoying the moment, and I'd love to know what you do to relax in the comments.

Little Lemon Cake

Hello Everybody!

Today I thought I'd share one of my favourite recipes ever, Lemon Cake! It tastes the best and it's so easy!

Ingredients:
2 Lemons
1 1/4 Cups Caster Sugar
125g Butter, Softened
2 Eggs, Separated
1 Cup Self Raising Flour
2 Tablespoons Milk

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C, and grease a 6 hole muffin pan or cake tin before you start.

Cake:
1. Grate 2 teaspoons rind from 1 lemon. Juice remaining lemons. Using an electric
mixer, beat butter, 1/2 cup sugar and lemon rind until light and fluffy. Add egg
yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Wash and dry beaters. Whisk
egg whites in another bowl until stiff peaks form.

2. Sift flour over butter mixture. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and milk. Stir until
just combined. Using a large metal spoon, gently fold egg whites into butter mixture.
Divide mixture between prepared pan holes. Smooth top. Bake for 20 minutes or
until golden and a skewer inserted in centre of 1 cake comes out clean. Stand in
pan for 10 minutes. Turn out onto a wire rack over a baking tray.

Syrupy Glaze
3. Meanwhile, place remaining sugar and 1/3 cup lemon juice in a saucepan
over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar dissolves.
Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes or until thick and syrupy.
Spoon the syrup over cakes. Cool for 5 minutes.
Serve cakes warm, and share 'em round to spread the love!

Thanks so much for reading. I have some beauty and fashion posts on their way, stay tuned for that! If you try the recipe out, tweet it to me @emiliecharlie and i'll see you next week!

Beauty Wishlist

Hello Everybody!
As everyone interested in the world of Makeup, Skincare, Haircare etc. I have an  increasingly large wishlist of products that have been recommended by other bloggers. So today I thought that I would share with you the top 7 items on my wishlist!

1. Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
Recommended by: ETC LLYMLRS
I love Jurlique, it's one of my favourite skincare brands. When I saw Lily's post about this, I knew it'd be heading straight onto my wishlist. It's made of natural ingredients and the best part is the pump, no more searching for cotton pads for toner!

2. Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette
Recommended by: Sprinkle of Glitter (YT)
Too Faced facts: One, its packaging is top notch. Two, its colour payoff and quality is amazing. Win Win! Definitely, want to get my hands on and use that baby soon!

3. Nars Matte Eyeshadow in Abyssinia
Recommended by: (Me, I saw it in Mecca Cosmetica)
I love both mattes and shimmer eyeshadow, but there was something about this one over the shimmers that made me fall in love. Most likely the beautiful colour, but also the description 'Delicate pearl sheen' I mean, Wow.

4. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Recommended by: Vivianna Does Makeup
After reading countless reviews, swatching in store and watching tutorials with it, I can certainly say that I that this could be one of the best foundations one could ever own. I just have to get around to, you know, owning it.

5. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Mentioned by: From Roses
The last primer I used was a sample of Benefit's Porefessional, which was great, but this primer gets some great reviews, and the radiance one has caught my eye.

6. Urban Decay Naked Palette
Recommended by: Everyone
I don't know how I call myself a beauty blogger without owning a Naked Palette. Also considering I am an eyeshadow freak, (3rd eyeshadow mention in this post, can you tell?) it's obvious I love the look of this palette. I've heard they're the best of the best, the neutrals look amazing, but so tricky to get a hold of in Australia.

7. Zoeva Brushes
Recommended by: Lily Pebbles
Zoeva looked gorgeous and amazing before, and then they brought in a Rose Gold Collection. They look stunning.  I don't own a whole lot of brushes, and apparently they are great quality, and a good dupe for M.A.C., so why not add them to your wishlist?

So that's the end of  this week's post. Thank you for reading, follow me on twitter, and bloglovin', and i'll see you soon.

What's on your wishlist?

The Perfect Day

Hello Everybody!

Yesterday, I got to spend some time with my bestest chummy, Madie Grace! We hadn't seen each other in over 3 months, so there was some serious catching up to do. So, together we went on a little shopping trip, and talked and talked (and shopped, obviously).

Once we got back, Madie and I filmed a video for her YouTube channel. I won't say what, but head over to her blog to find out soon! We then sat down to watch a bit of Teen Wolf, which I hadn't seen before but enjoyed none the less. Obviously snacks were necessary, so M&Ms all the way! Also, Madie has done a re-cap of the day on her blog (madieeegraceee.blogspot.com) and give her a follow while you're there.

Here are my purchases from yesterday. I also took the opportunity to go to Lush but if I included those this post would be much longer! These beauties definitely deserve a review, please comment down below on what you'd like to see!
Left to Right: Bare Minerals Lash Domination; Soap & Glory Hand Food; Topshop Lip Crayon in Coy; Topshop Lipstick in Saint.

I have to say that yesterday was absolutely brilliant, and I had the best time this holiday. What's in your favourite day? Let me know, and don't forget to Like, Follow and Share. I wish you all a happy Easter, and I'll see you next week.
Goodbye xx

February Favourites

Hello Everybody!

It has definitely taken me forever to do this post, but my February Favourites are finally posted. I didn't get any random stuff, or any fashion things for that matter, but there are fashion posts coming, so stay tuned! Without further ado, here are the beauty things I loved through last month.

Makeup: I have been working on trying out more bases for my face, because good prep is important! My three picks are Benefit's Porefessional, Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder and Wake Me Up Concealer. These products are amazing, they work really well on my face and I recommend them all. Onto brushes, I picked up the Real Technique Brushes last month.A friend recommended them, and so far, they have been perfect, They're soft, east to clean, well designed and I really love them.

Skin/Haircare: These two I bought on a whim, and they both turned out really well. First up is the Formula 10.0.6 Breakout Calming Mask. It feels really good on my skin, and it has peppermint in it, which is one of my favourite scents, so yay! Next is my new favourite drugstore haircare product, the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment. I love this, it makes my hair super healthy and soft. I haven't seen any extra hair growth yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Lush: So I only bought one thing in February, and it was the Twilight Bath Ballistic. The smell of this is so relaxing, I love it, go pick it up when you have the chance, thank you.

So those are My February Beauty Favourites! Thank you so much for reading, please follow this blog if you're new, or if you aren't new, I don't mind. Also, I have a new twitter! Emilie Charlie, check it out if you like, and I'll see you next week
 Goodbye! x

From where I'd rather be...

Hello Everybody!

It's no big secret, but I have a serious case of Wanderlust. Currently it's been taking over my life, and I'm going to share where I'd rather be right now.

1. Zurich, Switzerland. This city is a is extremely beautiful, from Old Town to the gorgeous shopfronts in Bahnofstrasse. There's so much culture, art and food points of interest, I could write an entire post about it! There's also some awe-inspiring ski villages close by, so to me, Zurich is definitely a place I'd love to see.

2. NewYork, USA. What can I say about the city that never sleeps?  It's full of style, music, arts, NYC has something for everyone. And the people, wow. It's insane how many unique people fit in one place. If you don't believe me, The HONY Blog will change that for you.

3. Mykonos, Greek Islands. Mykonos is the most picturesque place you will ever see. It has crystal clear water and some breathtakingly beautiful views where ever you go. To me, this place it the ultimate venue for relaxation and Me-time.

4. Montreal, Canada. I love Paris. I love Canada. So, you can say that I have definitely fallen in love with Montreal! I have been before, but as I was a little one at the time, I don't think I fully appreciated the wonderful blend of old and new that makes up this city. There's so much I want to do there, especially the Montréal en Lumière, a beautiful festival of lights.

So there it is, four cities at the top of my Wanderlust Wishlist! Thank you so much for reading, and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin'. I'll see you next week, Goodbye!

Album Review: Blisters by Adam Barnes

Hello Everybody!
The other day I was flicking through iTunes, and I found a beauty of an album.  I fell in love with it, bought it, and here it is for me to review to you.

Blisters is the second album by Singer/Songwriter Adam Barnes. I personally think that his musical skill is incredible, especially in the vocal department, showing off the raw sound with a Capella and in harmony with the music. As well as this, the guitar part is amazing and the drum beat really pulls all of the songs together. It has 8 tracks I can’t get enough of, all of which give off a really individual and unique vibe. The mood changes from uplifting in Old Shoes, to a really grown up darker vibe in Lighthouse. The change in mood from song to song, which I really like. One of my favourite things about an album is if it can make you feel something, and Blisters has gone above and beyond.

Now onto my favourite song from this album. This was particularly hard, as I have been listening to all of them so often and I loved them all. But, my favourite is definitely She Will Stay Beneath the Moon. This song is amazing to run to, relax to, wake up to… it’s one of those songs that click with you and you can never get tired of it. Songs hardly ever get to find that place with me, so this song takes the cake.

I definitely recommend Blisters, to the moon and back, it’s an album anyone can love and you could listen to it a million times, without losing your love of it.

Thank you all so much for reading this post, and I will see you next week. Goodbye! xx

Little Pamper Session

Hello again!

Earlier this week, I had come home and I was extremely tired, my skin was really dry, and all I wanted to do was have some time to relax. So, what I decided was to have a little bath session, and I'd like to share it with you!

After filling my bath, I dropped in a Lush Golden Wonder Bath Ballistic (Heads Up; This is a very Lushed-up post, so bear with me!) This Ballistic is one of my absolute favourite products from Lush, so when the Christmas stock arrives, I always rush in to get these beauties. It has a champagne scent, which I love, and as it fizzes, it sends tiny little stars into the water, which is so pretty!

See?  It makes the water an amazing blue colour!

After the Ballistic has fizzed out, I used the Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar to add a some bubbles to my bath. These bubbles are scented with Snow Fairy, which adds such a lovely smell to the whole room! I always think having bubbles makes your bath a little fancier, and they make everything just a little bit prettier. Now that everything's fizzed up and bubbly, I'll light some candles, pop on a YouTube video or start reading a blog post, hop in and let myself unwind and relax. (I'm watching Zoella's: What's in my bag video & I love reading MadieGrace)

Bubble Bar pre-bubbles.

I really love catching up on YouTube and Blogs in the bath. Just
make sure you do it where it won't fall in!

After I feel that my skin is soft and smooth, everything is off my mind, and I'm as happy as a clam, I'll get out, dry off, and this is the point where I decide to have a face mask. I'm using the Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask, which is amazing for teenage and oily skin. I leave it on for five minutes, wash it off and my face feels amazing, and smells like chocolate! With my session almost complete, I pop on my eos lip balm in Sweet Mint, because your lips need a little TLC too.

Mmmm! Only thing better than eating chocolate is
putting it on your face!

Although I love all my eos products, this one
I think is the most hydrating.

And that is my mini pamper session complete! I hoped you like it, and I will see you next week. I you'd like to see anything in particular post-wise, please let me know in the comments! Goodbye!
